Jim Costa

Jim Costa (born April 13, 1952) is an American politician representing California's 21st congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since 2013. He previously represented the 20th congressional district from 2005 to 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Costa served in the California State Assembly from 1978 to 1994 and the California State Senate from 1994 to 2002. His political positions are generally considered moderate to conservative within the Democratic Party. Key issues he has focused on include water policy, agriculture, and economic development in the Central Valley of California.
