Jeff Nelson (runner)

Jeff Nelson (born February 2, 1961) is a retired American long-distance runner. He is best known for his achievements in cross country running, particularly during his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and for representing the United States in international competitions.

Nelson achieved significant success in cross country. He won four consecutive NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships from 1978 to 1981. This feat is unmatched in the history of the event, establishing him as one of the most dominant collegiate cross country runners of all time.

Beyond his collegiate achievements, Nelson competed internationally for the United States. He participated in several World Cross Country Championships, contributing to the American team's performance.
