James Mason (British politician)

James Mason (born 19 October 1956) is a British Labour Party politician. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Coventry South from 1997 to 2001.

Prior to his election to Parliament, Mason worked as a teacher and was active in local politics in Coventry. During his time in Parliament, he served on several select committees, including the Education and Employment Committee.

In the 2001 general election, Mason lost his seat to Jim Cunningham, who had previously represented the constituency before boundary changes. Since leaving Parliament, Mason has remained involved in local community activities. His political interests primarily lie in education and social justice.
