Iredalea

Iredalea is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Drilliidae, part of the superfamily Conoidea.

Description

Shells in the Iredalea genus are typically small to medium in size, characterized by an elongated fusiform shape. They often exhibit axial ribs and spiral cords, forming a reticulate pattern on the shell surface. The aperture is usually narrow, with a siphonal canal that is often short and open. The outer lip can be simple or lirate within.

Distribution

Species of Iredalea are found in various parts of the Indo-Pacific region, including Australia, New Zealand, and other areas of the Pacific Ocean. They typically inhabit subtidal and deeper marine environments.
