Igor Gorbunov (politician)
Igor Pavlovich Gorbunov (born December 12, 1941, USSR) is a Russian politician and engineer who served in various roles in the Soviet Union and later the Russian Federation.
Gorbunov graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1965 and initially worked in the aviation industry. He transitioned into political roles in the late Soviet era.
He is most notably recognized for his involvement in the government of Boris Yeltsin in the early 1990s. From 1991 to 1993, he served as the Chief of Staff of the President of the Russian Federation. This position was a key administrative and political role within the executive branch, responsible for overseeing the President's office and coordinating government activities.
After leaving the presidential administration, Gorbunov held positions in business and other sectors. Information regarding his activities since the mid-1990s is less readily available in English-language sources.
