Hyde Road (stadium)

Hyde Road was a football stadium located in Gorton, Manchester, England. It served as the home ground for Manchester City Football Club from 1923 to 1923. Originally known as the Maine Road ground, the stadium's name is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Hyde Road, possibly due to its proximity to Hyde Road. This confusion is frequently found in older records and historical accounts. While the stadium itself was not officially named Hyde Road, the association stems from its location and address. Its official name, Maine Road, is consistently used in most reputable sources. The stadium was demolished in 2004 after Manchester City relocated to the City of Manchester Stadium (now the Etihad Stadium).
