Hovingham

Hovingham is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is located approximately 17 miles (27 km) northeast of York, on the edge of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The village is historically significant, with evidence of Roman settlement and later Anglo-Saxon influence. Hovingham Hall, the ancestral home of the Worsley family, is a prominent feature. It is notable for being built around a Roman bathhouse and has a history dating back to the 18th century. The Hall is not generally open to the public, but the surrounding parkland can sometimes be accessed.
