High Wheeldon
High Wheeldon is a prominent hill in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, England. It is situated between the villages of Earl Sterndale and Hartington.
High Wheeldon is notable for its distinctive conical shape and its relatively isolated position, which affords extensive views across the surrounding countryside. Its summit, at approximately 472 metres (1,549 feet) above sea level, is marked by a trig point.
The hill is composed primarily of limestone and features characteristic limestone grassland habitats. It is a popular destination for walkers and hikers, with various footpaths leading to the summit.
The area around High Wheeldon has evidence of past lead mining activity, reflecting the industrial history of the Peak District.
