Glyder (band)
Glyder was an Irish hard rock/heavy metal band formed in Dublin in 1973. The band was known for its twin-guitar attack, incorporating elements of blues, hard rock, and traditional Irish music into their sound. They are considered one of the pioneers of Irish rock music and a significant influence on subsequent Irish bands.
History:
Glyder was formed by vocalist and guitarist Pete Brady, guitarist Tony Young, bassist Lesley Mc Keown and drummer Ditch Brennan. The band quickly gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and strong songwriting.
In 1975, Glyder signed with Philips Records and released their self-titled debut album. The album received critical acclaim and helped to establish the band as a major force in the Irish music scene. They followed up with two more albums, Playground for Life (1976) and See You Down (1978).
The band toured extensively throughout Ireland and Europe, supporting bands such as Thin Lizzy and AC/DC. Despite their success, Glyder disbanded in 1984.

Glyder's music continues to be appreciated by fans of hard rock and heavy metal. Their albums have been reissued several times, and their songs are still played on radio stations around the world. Glyder is remembered as one of the most important and influential bands in Irish rock history.
