Glenn Schwartz (meteorologist)
Glenn Schwartz (born November 2, 1940, died November 9, 2020) was an American television meteorologist best known for his long tenure at NBC10 WCAU in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a fixture in the Philadelphia media market for over two decades, delivering weather forecasts with a distinctive and often humorous style.
Schwartz was renowned for his unconventional forecasting methods, which included personal experience and observations alongside traditional meteorological tools. He was particularly known for his accurate predictions of winter weather events, earning him a loyal following among viewers.
Prior to his career in television, Schwartz had a brief stint as a professional football player in the National Football League (NFL). He played as a defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions in 1961 and later with the Baltimore Colts in 1962.
Following his football career, Schwartz transitioned into broadcasting. He started at a radio station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania before moving to television in Philadelphia. He joined WCAU in 1995 and remained there until his retirement in 2020.
