Ginostra

Ginostra is a small village on the Italian island of Stromboli, part of the Aeolian Islands, north of Sicily. It is known as the smallest port in Italy and one of the most isolated inhabited places in the country.

Geography and Access:

Ginostra is located on the southwestern side of the Stromboli volcano. Due to its remote location and lack of a proper harbor until relatively recently, access was historically difficult. Boats could only dock in a small, natural cove called "Pertuso," often requiring passengers to be transported to and from boats in small dinghies.
