Geoff Lees (racing driver)

Geoff Lees is a British former racing driver. He is best known for his successes in Formula Two and Formula Three, as well as his occasional appearances in Formula One.

Lees began his racing career in the early 1970s. He won the Formula Ford championship in 1975 and progressed to Formula Three, winning the British title in 1977.

His success in Formula Three led to a career in Formula Two, where he was a front-runner for several years. He won the European Formula Two Championship in 1981, driving for Ralt.

Lees made several attempts to establish himself in Formula One. He participated in a handful of Grands Prix in the late 1970s and early 1980s, driving for Ensign, Theodore, and RAM Racing. His Formula One career was largely unsuccessful, however, with a best finish of 12th at the 1982 German Grand Prix.

After Formula One, Lees continued to race in various categories, including touring cars and sports cars. He had a successful career in Japan, competing in the Japanese Formula 3000 series.

Geoff Lees is remembered as a talented driver who achieved success in Formula Two but ultimately struggled to translate that success to Formula One.
