Garry Peters (ice hockey)
Garry Peters (born February 26, 1954) is a retired professional ice hockey player. A defenseman, Peters played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers and the Hartford Whalers.
Peters was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 6th round, 98th overall, of the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft. Prior to his NHL career, Peters played junior hockey in the Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL) with the Saskatoon Blades. He spent the majority of his professional career within the Philadelphia Flyers organization, primarily with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Maine Mariners, where he won two Calder Cups (AHL Championships) in 1978 and 1979.
Peters played 28 regular season NHL games for the Flyers between 1977 and 1980, scoring 2 goals and 6 assists for 8 points. He also played 5 playoff games for Philadelphia. After being traded to the Hartford Whalers, Peters played 25 regular season NHL games during the 1980-81 season, scoring 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points.
Following his NHL career, Peters continued to play professional hockey in the AHL before retiring.
