France 2
France 2 is a French public national television channel. It is part of the France Télévisions group, which also includes France 3, France 4, France 5, Franceinfo, and Outre-Mer 1ère.
Originally known as Télévision 2 (RTF 2) when it was launched in 1964 as the second television channel of the Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française (RTF), it adopted the name Antenne 2 in 1975. In 1992, it was renamed France 2.
France 2 broadcasts a wide variety of programming, including news, talk shows, dramas, comedies, documentaries, and sports. It is generally considered to be a mainstream, general-interest channel. The channel is funded by a combination of government funding and advertising revenue. It is available throughout France, as well as in many other countries via satellite and cable. France 2 plays a significant role in French cultural and national life.
