Force It
Force It is the sixth studio album by the British rock band UFO, released in 1975. The album marked a shift towards a heavier, more guitar-oriented sound, cementing their status as a hard rock act. "Force It" was the first UFO album to be produced by Leo Lyons of the band Ten Years After.
The album features songwriting contributions from all members of the band: Phil Mogg, Michael Schenker, Pete Way, and Andy Parker. Tracks such as "Let It Roll," "Shoot Shoot," and "High Flyer" became staples of UFO's live performances and are considered classic rock songs.
While "Force It" did not achieve significant commercial success upon its initial release, it is now regarded as a cornerstone album in the hard rock and proto-metal genres. Its influence can be heard in the work of numerous subsequent rock bands. The album is known for its dynamic arrangements, Michael Schenker's guitar work, and Phil Mogg's vocals. The cover art, designed by Hipgnosis, is considered somewhat controversial due to its suggestive imagery.
