Flour (band)

Flour was an Australian alternative rock band formed in Perth in 1992. The core members were Richard Annison (vocals, guitar), Jeremy Sloane (guitar), and Andrew Ingram (drums). Various bassists played with the band throughout their career.

Flour gained popularity in the mid-1990s, known for their melodic, guitar-driven sound that drew comparisons to bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Buffalo Tom. They released several EPs and albums, including "Small Mercies" (1996) which garnered critical acclaim and airplay on Australian alternative radio stations like Triple J. Their music often explored themes of suburban alienation and personal introspection.

While commercially successful within the Australian alternative music scene, Flour never achieved mainstream breakthrough. They toured extensively throughout Australia and supported several international acts.

The band officially disbanded in the late 1990s. Annison later pursued a solo career, while other members remained active in the Perth music scene in various capacities. Flour's music continues to be appreciated by fans of 90s Australian alternative rock.
