Flipturn (band)
Flipturn is an American indie rock band formed in Fernandina Beach, Florida in 2015. The band consists of Dillon Basse (vocals/guitar), Tristan Duncan (guitar), Madeline Jarman (bass), Devon VonBalson (keys/synths), and Joel Roberts (drums).
Flipturn's music is characterized by layered instrumentation, introspective lyrics, and dynamic shifts in tempo and intensity, often categorized within the indie rock, indie pop, and alternative rock genres. They are known for their energetic live performances and dedicated fanbase.
The band released several EPs early in their career, including "Heavy Colors" (2015) and "Pillar" (2016). They gained wider recognition with their EP "Citrona" (2018), which helped solidify their presence in the indie music scene.
In 2022, Flipturn released their debut full-length album, Shadowglow. The album explored themes of introspection, growth, and the complexities of relationships, receiving positive reviews and further expanding their audience.
