Evosmos

Evosmos is a suburb located approximately 10 kilometers northwest of Thessaloniki, Greece. It is part of the municipality of Kordelio-Evosmos, in the Thessaloniki regional unit of Central Macedonia. Originally a rural settlement, Evosmos has experienced rapid urbanization and population growth, particularly since the 1980s and 1990s. Today, it is a densely populated residential area and a significant commercial center for the western part of Thessaloniki. Its proximity to the city center and improved infrastructure have contributed to its development. Evosmos is known for its lively marketplaces, diverse shops, and various public services. The area is generally considered a middle-class residential district. Its name is derived from the Greek words "εύ" (eu) meaning "good" and "οσμή" (osmi) meaning "smell," suggesting a pleasant or fragrant place.
