Engel (band)
Engel is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 2005. The band features Niclas Engelin (also of In Flames), Mikael Sehlin, Marcus Hideskär, and Oscar Nilsson.
Engel's music is characterized by a blend of melodic death metal riffs, electronic elements, and clean vocals alongside harsh vocals. Their sound has often been compared to bands such as In Flames, Soilwork, and Dimension Zero, due in part to Engelin's involvement with In Flames.
The band has released several studio albums, including:
- Absolute Design (2007)
- Threnody (2010)
- Blood of Saints (2012)
- Raven Kings (2014)
- Abandon All Hope (2018)
Engel has toured extensively, both as a headlining act and as a supporting band for other established metal groups. They have performed at numerous festivals across Europe and beyond.
The band's name, "Engel," translates to "Angel" in German and Swedish.
