Ed Warby
Ed Warby (born 7 March 1968) is a Dutch drummer best known for his work in the progressive metal band Ayreon, led by Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He is renowned for his versatile drumming style, encompassing a wide range of genres including metal, progressive rock, and even some classical influences.
Warby's career began in the Dutch thrash metal band Gorefest, where he was the drummer from 1992 until their initial breakup in 1998, and again during their reunion from 2004 to 2009. During his time with Gorefest, he established himself as a technically proficient and powerful drummer.
Beyond Gorefest and Ayreon, Warby has also contributed to numerous other projects as a session and guest musician. These include appearances on albums by artists like Star One, Hail of Bullets, and The Gentle Storm, further showcasing his adaptability and skill. He has also participated in live performances and tours with various bands.
