East Prussia (electoral district)

East Prussia was an electoral district in Germany for the election of representatives to various parliamentary bodies at different periods in history. The most significant period was during the time of the Weimar Republic and the Nazi era (1919-1945), when it elected members to the Reichstag.

The electoral district was geographically defined by the boundaries of the Province of East Prussia. Due to its isolated location relative to the rest of Germany, separated by the Polish Corridor after World War I, East Prussia often had distinct political characteristics and voting patterns. These patterns often reflected the region's agricultural base, its large Junker (landowning aristocracy) class, and its significant German nationalist sentiment.

The electoral district system was abolished after World War II, with the partition of East Prussia between Poland and the Soviet Union (Kaliningrad Oblast). As a result, the electoral district of East Prussia no longer exists.
