District 11 (Zurich)
District 11, also known as Affoltern, is one of the twelve districts of the city of Zurich, Switzerland. It is located in the northern part of the city and comprises the quarters of Affoltern, Oerlikon, and Seebach.
Affoltern, historically a separate municipality, was incorporated into Zurich in 1934. It retains a more rural character compared to some of the other districts.
Oerlikon is a major business and residential area, known for its industrial history and modern developments. It is a significant transportation hub, with Oerlikon railway station providing frequent connections to Zurich's main station and other cities. It has seen significant growth in recent years with the development of new housing and office spaces. The Messe Zurich exhibition center and the Hallenstadion arena are also located in Oerlikon.
Seebach, another former municipality, was also incorporated into Zurich in 1937. It offers a mix of residential areas and green spaces.
