Dink (band)
Dink was an American alternative rock band from Tempe, Arizona, formed in 1994. The band was fronted by singer and guitarist Shannon Leto (brother of actor and musician Jared Leto). Other members included Ryan DeMars on guitar, Kyle Tapella on bass, and Nathan Barlowe on drums.
Dink is primarily known for their single "Green Green," which was featured on the soundtrack for the 1996 film Foxfire. The song gained some popularity, becoming a minor hit and helping to bring attention to the band.
Dink released one album, Dink, on Capitol Records in 1995. The album featured a blend of grunge-influenced rock with elements of pop and alternative. Despite the relative success of "Green Green," the album itself did not achieve significant commercial success.
Following the release of their album, Dink toured and performed for a period before eventually disbanding. Shannon Leto later became the drummer for the band Thirty Seconds to Mars, which is fronted by his brother Jared. The other members of Dink have largely remained out of the public eye, pursuing other musical projects or careers. While their mainstream exposure was relatively short-lived, Dink remains a noteworthy band from the 1990s alternative rock scene.
