Daysleeper (band)

Daysleeper was an Australian indie rock band formed in Brisbane in 1996. The band consisted of Scott Muir (vocals, guitar), Greg Weaver (guitar), Rob Shirley (bass), and Luke Jaeger (drums).

Daysleeper gained popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s for their melodic songwriting and introspective lyrics, often drawing comparisons to bands like The Smiths and The Cure. They released several EPs and two full-length albums: Don't Blow It (2001) and All That Was New (2003). Their music was characterized by layered guitars, driving rhythms, and Muir's distinctive vocals.

Daysleeper toured extensively throughout Australia and received significant airplay on alternative radio stations like Triple J. While never achieving mainstream commercial success, they cultivated a devoted fanbase within the Australian indie music scene.

The band disbanded in the mid-2000s. Since then, members have pursued various other musical projects. Although Daysleeper has not officially reformed, their music continues to be appreciated by fans of Australian indie rock.
