David Prosser (bishop)
David Prosser (born 12 July 1868, died 28 September 1950) was a Welsh Anglican clergyman who served as the Bishop of St David's from 1944 until his death.
Prosser was educated at Llandovery College and Keble College, Oxford. He was ordained deacon in 1891 and priest in 1892. His early ministry was spent in various curacies within the Diocese of Llandaff, including Roath, Llanmaes, and Llandaff Cathedral. He then served as Vicar of Llandaff Cathedral from 1932 to 1944, prior to his elevation to the episcopate.
Prosser's episcopate coincided with the immediate post-World War II period, and he played a significant role in the rebuilding and restoration efforts within the Diocese of St David's. He was a noted scholar of Welsh history and culture and contributed to various publications. His tenure as bishop was marked by a focus on pastoral care and the strengthening of parish life throughout the diocese. He is remembered for his dedication to the Church in Wales and his service to the people of St David's.
