Mike Naig
Mike Naig is an American politician serving as the Iowa Secretary of Agriculture. He was appointed to the position in March 2018 by Governor Kim Reynolds following the resignation of Bill Northey. He was subsequently elected to the position in the 2018 special election and re-elected in 2022.
Prior to his appointment, Naig served as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture under Northey for seven years. His responsibilities included management and oversight of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship's various divisions.
Naig has a background in agricultural advocacy and policy. Before joining the Iowa Department of Agriculture, he worked for the Iowa Corn Growers Association and the U.S. Representative Tom Latham. He is a graduate of Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. He and his wife, Jaime, live on a farm in Cylinder, Iowa, and have three children.
