David Brown (footballer, born 1978)

David Brown (born 19 May 1978) is an English former professional footballer.

Brown, a midfielder, began his career at Scarborough, making his league debut in the 1997-98 season. He went on to play over 100 league games for the club before departing in 2001.

Following his time at Scarborough, Brown joined Hartlepool United. He spent several seasons with Hartlepool, becoming a regular member of the squad. He was part of the Hartlepool team that achieved promotion to League One (then the Second Division) in 2003.

After leaving Hartlepool, Brown played for a number of non-league clubs, including Whitby Town and Guisborough Town. His post-professional playing career involved focusing on local football within the North Yorkshire region.
