Conny Andersson (racing driver)
Conny Andersson (born December 28, 1939 in Alingsås, Sweden) is a Swedish former racing driver. He is best known for his participation in Formula One during the 1976 and 1977 seasons.
Andersson's racing career began in Formula Vee in the late 1960s. He achieved success in Formula Three in the early 1970s, earning a reputation as a talented driver. This led to opportunities in Formula Two, where he continued to demonstrate his ability.
In 1976, Andersson made his Formula One debut with the Surtees team at the Dutch Grand Prix. He replaced Henri Pescarolo in the car. However, he failed to qualify for the race. He participated in two further Grands Prix that year, also failing to qualify in both.
In 1977, Andersson secured a drive with the BRM team. He participated in one Grand Prix, the Belgian Grand Prix, where he retired due to a suspension failure. This would be his final Formula One appearance.
After his brief stint in Formula One, Andersson continued to race in other categories, including Formula Two and sports car racing.
