Colchester (federal electoral district)

Colchester was a federal electoral district in Nova Scotia, Canada, that existed from 1867 to 1903, and again from 1917 to 1968.

The district was created as part of the initial allocation of seats for the first Canadian federal election in 1867, encompassing Colchester County. It elected two members to the House of Commons until 1872, after which it elected a single member.

The district was abolished in 1903 when it was split between Colchester and Hants ridings.

It was re-created in 1917 from parts of Colchester and Hants ridings. This iteration continued until 1968, when it was merged into the new riding of Central Nova.
