Clavulina (foram)

Clavulina is a genus of foraminifera, single-celled organisms with shells (tests). These organisms are typically found in marine environments, ranging from shallow coastal waters to deeper ocean depths.

Clavulina foraminifera are characterized by their elongated, agglutinated tests. "Agglutinated" refers to the construction of the test using particles from the surrounding environment, such as sand grains, shell fragments, and other mineral or organic debris, cemented together by a secreted organic matrix or mineral cement. This gives their tests a rough or granular appearance.
