CityLink Gold (BaltimoreLink)
CityLink Gold (BaltimoreLink) is a high-frequency bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of the BaltimoreLink system. Introduced in June 2017 as a major component of the system-wide transit overhaul, CityLink Gold replaced and consolidated portions of several former local bus routes, including the Numbers 7, 9, and 51.
The route is designed to provide frequent and reliable east-west service, primarily along the Orleans Street/Pulaski Highway corridor. It connects various neighborhoods, including Mondawmin, Downtown Baltimore, Patterson Park, and Dundalk.
CityLink Gold is characterized by its distinctive gold color branding and its focus on providing enhanced service compared to traditional local bus routes. This includes features such as more frequent service during peak hours, improved bus stop signage, and real-time bus tracking information via the Transit app and other platforms.
The route aims to improve transit connectivity across Baltimore, reduce travel times, and enhance the overall user experience for bus riders. It operates seven days a week, with varying levels of frequency depending on the time of day and day of the week. Specific schedules and route maps are available on the MTA's website and via printed materials.
The success of CityLink Gold, like other CityLink routes, is evaluated based on factors such as ridership numbers, on-time performance, and customer feedback. The MTA continues to make adjustments to the route based on these metrics in an effort to optimize service and meet the evolving transportation needs of Baltimore residents.
