Chris Mears (baseball)

Chris Mears is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers in 1999. Mears primarily pitched in relief, appearing in 11 games for the Tigers.

Prior to reaching the major leagues, Mears played in the minor league systems of the Tigers and the Florida Marlins. He was drafted by the Tigers in the 16th round of the 1994 MLB draft.

Following his brief MLB career, Mears continued to play in the minor leagues for several seasons. He also played in independent leagues. His professional career ended in the mid-2000s.
