China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)
China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (CUG, 中国地质大学(武汉)) is a key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province. CUG is renowned for its geosciences research, education, and related fields.
The university's history can be traced back to the Beijing Institute of Geology, founded in 1952. It was later relocated to Wuhan and renamed the Wuhan College of Geology. In 1987, it was renamed China University of Geosciences, maintaining campuses in both Beijing and Wuhan. The two campuses operated independently until 2005 when they were officially restructured into two separate universities: China University of Geosciences (Beijing) and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).
CUG (Wuhan) offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in disciplines including, but not limited to, geology, geophysics, environmental science, engineering, computer science, business administration, and foreign languages. It is particularly strong in areas such as mineral resources exploration, geological engineering, and environmental geology.
