Chastity (soundtrack)
The Chastity soundtrack is the musical accompaniment to the 1969 film of the same name, starring Cher. It was released on the Atco Records label, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. The music is primarily instrumental, composed and arranged by Sonny Bono, then Cher's husband and musical partner.
The soundtrack blends orchestral arrangements with folk and psychedelic influences, reflecting the film's unconventional themes and visuals. The music attempts to capture the nomadic existence and emotional journey of the film's central character, Chastity.
While the soundtrack album features mainly instrumental tracks, it includes two songs sung by Cher: "Chastity's Song (Band of Thieves)" and "I Will Wait for You." The latter is a cover of the theme from the film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. The soundtrack album was released around the same time as the film but did not achieve significant commercial success. It has since become a somewhat obscure entry in Cher's and Sonny Bono's discographies, but remains of interest to fans of the film and their early work.
