Charles Packe (cricketer)
Charles Hale Packe (born 27 August 1867, died 20 February 1941) was an English first-class cricketer who played for Oxford University and Kent County Cricket Club between 1887 and 1898.
Packe was born in Twyford, Berkshire, and educated at Eton College and New College, Oxford. He was a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm medium pace bowler. He made his first-class debut for Oxford University against Lancashire in 1887. He played regularly for the University side, winning his Blue in 1888 and 1889, and also appeared for Kent during the University holidays.
After leaving Oxford, Packe continued to play for Kent, making sporadic appearances until 1898. His highest first-class score was 111, made for Kent against Sussex in 1890. He scored a total of 1,830 first-class runs at an average of 17.94 and took 11 wickets at an average of 24.54.
Outside of cricket, Packe was a barrister. He died in Folkestone, Kent.
