Centre Party (Turkey)

The Centre Party (Turkish: Merkez Partisi, abbreviated MP) was a political party in Turkey founded in 2002. It positioned itself as a centrist party, aiming to represent a broad spectrum of Turkish society. The party was led by Abdurrahim Hakan and advocated for a strong, secular, and democratic Turkey integrated with the European Union.

The Centre Party generally focused on issues such as economic development, social justice, and improvements in education and healthcare. It often criticized the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) for perceived authoritarian tendencies and shortcomings in economic management. Despite its efforts, the Centre Party struggled to gain significant electoral support and remained a minor player in Turkish politics.

The party eventually dissolved on 23 March 2015, merging into the Homeland Party (Turkish: Yurt Partisi).
