Camera Obscura (2015 film)

Camera Obscura is a 2015 independent psychological horror film directed by Aaron B. Koontz. The film stars Christopher Denham, Nadja Bobyleva, Noah Segan, and Catherine Curtin.

The film centers on Jack Zeller (Denham), a veteran war photographer suffering from PTSD. After undergoing an experimental procedure to remove a brain tumor related to his trauma, he receives an antique camera as a gift. He soon discovers that the photographs he takes with the camera are predicting violent events that are about to happen in reality. As Jack becomes obsessed with the camera and the power it seems to hold, he struggles to control the influence it has on his life and the lives of those around him, blurring the line between observation and participation in the unfolding horrors. He must ultimately confront the dark forces at play and decide whether he can control the camera, or if it will control him. The film explores themes of trauma, paranoia, predestination, and the consequences of unchecked obsession.
