Burniston

Burniston is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, England. It is located approximately 3 miles (5 km) north of Scarborough on the A165 road.

The village has a population of around 500 to 600 people. Its history dates back to at least the Norman Conquest, with references found in the Domesday Book.

Burniston includes a village hall, a primary school (Burniston Primary School), a church (St. Mary's Church), a public house (The Three Jolly Sailors), and a number of local businesses. Agriculture and tourism are significant aspects of the local economy.

The surrounding countryside is predominantly farmland. The village is situated close to the North Yorkshire coast, offering access to nearby beaches and coastal paths.
