Kris (horse)
Kris was a British Thoroughbred racehorse, foaled in 1976. He was a champion miler, known for his consistency and speed over the one-mile distance. Bred and owned by Lord Howard de Walden, and trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Kris achieved notable success in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
His career highlights included victories in the Sussex Stakes, the Lockinge Stakes, and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. He was ridden primarily by jockey Joe Mercer. Kris's relatively short racing career was marked by a high winning percentage.
Upon retirement from racing, Kris stood as a stallion, but his progeny did not achieve the same level of success as he did on the track. Despite this, he remains a remembered figure in British racing history due to his brilliance as a miler.
