Yahoo (band)
Yahoo was a British instrumental rock band formed in 1972. The band was known for their complex arrangements, fusion of rock, jazz, and classical influences, and virtuoso musicianship.
Yahoo's original lineup consisted of vocalist and guitarist Peter Banks (formerly of Yes), bassist John Wetton (later of King Crimson, UK, and Asia), keyboardist Eddie Jobson (also later of Roxy Music, UK, and Jethro Tull), and drummer Alan White (also later of Yes). This lineup proved short-lived.
The band underwent several lineup changes. Subsequent members included keyboardist Dave Greenslade (Greenslade), bassist Dave Wintour, and drummer Simon Phillips.
Yahoo released one self-titled studio album in 1976. While not a commercial success, the album is considered a notable example of progressive instrumental rock and is appreciated for its technical prowess. Following the release of the album, the band eventually dissolved.
