Brian Grant
Brian Grant (born March 5, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player. He played primarily as a power forward in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 12 seasons.
Grant played college basketball at Xavier University, where he was a standout performer and led the Musketeers to several NCAA tournament appearances. He was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the 12th overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft.
Throughout his NBA career, Grant played for the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and Phoenix Suns. He was known for his rebounding, defensive intensity, and physical play. While never an All-Star, he was a consistent and valuable contributor to his teams, often tasked with guarding some of the league's top power forwards.
Grant retired from professional basketball in 2006. After retirement, he was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease and has become an advocate for Parkinson's disease awareness and research. He actively participates in fundraising events and speaks publicly about his experiences living with the condition.
