Boris Andreyev (cosmonaut)
Boris Dmitriyevich Andreyev (born October 23, 1940, in Moscow, died September 24, 2020, in Moscow) was a Soviet cosmonaut who was selected as part of the Soviet space program.
Andreyev graduated from the Balashov Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots in 1961. He joined the cosmonaut corps as part of Group TsKBEM-3 on January 8, 1963. He underwent extensive cosmonaut training, including survival training in various environments.
Andreyev never flew in space, but he participated in training for several Soyuz missions, including those involving the Salyut space stations. He was part of the backup crew for Soyuz 9. He left the cosmonaut corps on March 30, 1982, for medical reasons.
Following his departure from the space program, Andreyev worked in the aerospace industry.
