Blood Money (video game)
Hitman: Blood Money is a stealth video game developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive in 2006. It is the fourth installment in the Hitman series, following Hitman: Contracts.
The game follows Agent 47, a genetically engineered assassin, as he travels across the United States undertaking contract killings. After the ICA (International Contract Agency), Agent 47’s employers, become targets themselves due to a rival organization, the Franchise, he must unravel the conspiracy and eliminate the threats.
Hitman: Blood Money builds upon the core gameplay mechanics of previous titles, emphasizing stealth, disguise, and creative approaches to eliminating targets. Players are presented with expansive levels, each offering numerous opportunities for silent takedowns, elaborate accidents, and head-on assaults. The game introduces new features, including a notoriety system that affects how Agent 47 is recognized in subsequent missions, and an improved accident system allowing for more environmental kills. Players can also bribe witnesses to reduce their notoriety.
The game received generally positive reviews, praised for its open-ended gameplay, improved AI, and dark humor. It is often considered one of the strongest entries in the Hitman franchise.
