Belyayevo

Belyayevo is a district in the South-Western Administrative Okrug of Moscow, Russia. It is located along the Profsoyuznaya Street, southwest of the city center. Belyayevo is known as one of Moscow's "bedroom communities," primarily residential areas with high-rise apartment buildings constructed during the Soviet era.

The district's development began in the 1960s as part of a large-scale urban planning initiative to provide housing for Moscow's rapidly growing population. Belyayevo's layout is characterized by large apartment blocks, green spaces, and public amenities.

Belyayevo is historically significant as the site of the "Bulldozer Exhibition" in 1974, an unofficial art exhibition that was forcibly shut down by the Soviet authorities using bulldozers. This event became a symbol of artistic repression in the Soviet Union and a catalyst for greater artistic freedom.

The Belyayevo metro station, on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line (Line 6), serves the district, providing convenient access to other parts of Moscow. The district also offers various educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and shopping centers, making it a self-sufficient residential area.
