Belaya (Chukotka)
Belaya is a river located in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, in the Far East of Russia. It is a right tributary of the Anadyr River.
The Belaya River originates in the Anadyr Plateau and flows generally eastward before joining the Anadyr. The river's length is approximately 447 kilometers (278 miles), and its drainage basin covers an area of 25,700 square kilometers (9,900 square miles).
The river is known for its cold, clear water and supports a variety of fish species, including salmon. The surrounding landscape is characterized by tundra vegetation and mountainous terrain. The climate is subarctic, with long, cold winters and short, cool summers. The region is sparsely populated, primarily by indigenous Chukchi and other native peoples who engage in traditional activities such as reindeer herding and fishing. The river and its surrounding area are relatively remote and difficult to access.
