Begoña Fernández (mathematician)
Begoña Fernández is a Spanish mathematician specializing in differential geometry. Her research focuses on areas such as complex manifolds, geometric flows, and special holonomy. She has made significant contributions to the study of the Strominger system, a set of equations arising in string theory and supersymmetric field theories.
Fernández received her Ph.D. from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She has held research positions at various institutions, including the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and the University of Oxford. She is currently a professor at a Spanish university.
Her work has been published in leading mathematics journals. She is also known for her contributions to the mathematical community through mentoring and participation in conferences and workshops. Her research is supported by grants from national and international funding agencies.
