Ba Chúc

Ba Chúc is a town located in Tri Tôn District, An Giang Province, Vietnam. It is known primarily as the site of the Ba Chúc massacre, a significant event in the Cambodian-Vietnamese War.

In April 1978, Khmer Rouge soldiers crossed the border from Cambodia into Vietnam and attacked the town. The massacre resulted in the deaths of thousands of Vietnamese civilians. The event became a symbol of the brutality of the Khmer Rouge regime and was a major factor in Vietnam's decision to invade Cambodia in December 1978.

The Ba Chúc massacre site is now a memorial and serves as a place of remembrance for the victims. The area includes preserved structures, mass graves, and a museum dedicated to the events of the massacre.
