António Fernandes (chess player)

António Fernandes (born November 27, 1962) is a Portuguese chess player who holds the title of International Master (IM).

Fernandes has represented Portugal in numerous Chess Olympiads, beginning in 1984. He has also competed in several European Team Chess Championships. He is known for his solid and positional style of play. Fernandes has achieved notable results in various international chess tournaments throughout his career, contributing to the growth and popularity of chess in Portugal. He continues to be an active player and coach.
