Star Channel (Latin America)
Star Channel (Latin America) is a Latin American pay television network owned by The Walt Disney Company Latin America. It primarily airs films and television series, targeting a general audience with a focus on movies and scripted content. Formerly known as Fox Channel, the network rebranded as Star Channel in February 2021 following Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox's entertainment assets.
The channel's programming includes a mix of acquired content from various studios, as well as original productions commissioned by Disney specifically for the Star Channel brand. These original productions often feature Latin American talent and address themes relevant to the region's diverse cultures.
Star Channel is widely available across Latin America through cable, satellite, and IPTV providers. It often exists alongside other Star-branded channels in the region, each with a distinct programming focus, such as Star Life, Star Premium, and Star+. The rebranding aimed to create a clearer separation between the general entertainment offering of Star Channel and the news and sports content remaining under the Fox brand.
