Anne Wood

Anne Wood (born 1937) is a British television producer and writer, best known for creating and producing several highly successful children's television programmes. She founded Ragdoll Productions in 1984 and has been a major influence on children's media for decades.

Wood's most notable creations include Teletubbies, In the Night Garden..., and Twirlywoos. These shows are characterized by their innovative use of visual effects, music, and gentle storytelling aimed at preschool children. She often collaborates with other writers, composers, and artists to bring her ideas to life.

Wood has received numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to children's television, including a BAFTA Special Award and an honorary doctorate from the University of Sheffield. She has also been a vocal advocate for quality children's programming and has spoken out against the commercialization of children's media. After stepping down from her role at Ragdoll Productions, she established a new company, Tell Tale Productions, continuing her work in developing children's television.
